2nd largest Channel Island.
I have been to Guernsey on 3 occasions, first with family as a teenager, later with
a friend, this time solo. This time by fast ferry from St. Malo in France. This trip was in the month of July. Leaving the ferry terminal i went straight to the tourist office nearby. The island was busy and i needed a single room ,which were
in short supply. I was offered a double at single price at Les Cotils hotel just
a 12 minute walk away, up a gentle incline. This hotel was great for my 3 day stay. Les Cotils is
beautiful Victorian country house , in a 12 acre garden. There are great views from up here. Les
Cotils is a Christian Rereat and they run this 3 star hotel. The room was comfy,, and
breakfast was a cooked breakfast. The staff were welcoming. From the garden
the islands of Herm and Sark can be seen.

The island of Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands. It is 9 miles [ 14.5 km ] in length. and 3 miles [5 km ] wide. The
perimeter is 39 miles [64 km ] The official title is the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The currency is
the Guernsey Pound, same value as the British Pound. Both currencies are in use. The
tidal range of 33feet is one of the largest in the world. At low tide huge rocks
can be seen, that are submerged at high tide...
